Hello friends,

May is here and that means it’s M.E Awareness Month!

If you’ve been reading my blog and articles for a while, you know this month is a time when I focus solely on raising awareness for M.E and all my articles for this month will be centred around that. As well as a few new articles, I’ve also decided to re-post a few articles I wrote last year and the year before that I had published on my old blog site. So my plan is to publish a new article every Monday and Friday ~ health allowing of course.

Here’s a couple other things I have coming up this month:

Blue Sunday ~ 16th May

I’m supporting my lovely pal Anna again this year and joining in the Blue Sunday Tea Party on the 16th May. I’m having a little tea party with my parents and my brother and his wife via Zoom. Last year I held the very first Animal Crossing New Horizons Blue Sunday Tea Parties and I’m bringing them back this year. So I’ll have a post all about those with pictures of the parties but if you’d like to follow along on the day, then be sure to follow my main Instagram Account. If you want to know more about Blue Sunday and how to get involved, then be sure to follow Anna’s Instagram ~ TeaPartyForM.E as all the details are on there.

#GoBlue4ME

This is/was a campaign that the M.E Association started and was inspired by Blue Sunday. I’ve not seen it mentioned this year by them, so I’m not sure if they’re actually doing it anymore. However, I’ve always enjoyed it and it’s a nice low energy way for people with M.E to get involved and raise some awareness as all you need to do is wear blue throughout May and share a picture on social media. Last year, I did the #GoBlue4ME every day in May via my Animal Crossing character and it was so much fun that even though I don’t think it’s a thing this year, I’m doing that again this year. So every day, I’ll be sharing my blue Animal Crossing outfits on both my Instagram Accounts, my main one and my Animal Crossing one. As I’m sharing them mainly via Stories, I’ve made a #GoBlue4ME Highlight and I’ll be adding the outfit pictures to that each day, so if you’re interested in seeing them, you’ll be able to go through the highlight.

I’ve also designed a number of M.E Awareness clothing items. If you play the game, you can find them all under my Designer ID: MA-6514-7076-7180 I’ll also be adding them all to my Instagram Accounts via a Story highlight over this next week.

The PocketPod Podcast:

Finally I just want to share that I had the privilege of being on an episode of my favourite Podcast, The PocketPod. I got to chat all things Animal Crossing, M.E Awareness and Blue Sunday with my lovely friends who host the podcast. They’re so supportive of M.E Awareness Month and I am so grateful that they allowed me to use an episode of their podcast to tell their audience all about M.E. The episode is now live and if you’d like to give it a listen, then just click the link below:

The PocketPod Episode #156 ~ Wispabelle, Lo, and ME

So those are the main things I’m doing this month along with publishing articles on here of course and also a few awareness posts on my social media throughout the month.

I hope all my fellow people with M.E have a kind Awareness month. aside from being an important month to try and raise as much awareness as possible, it can also be a hard month as the realities of M.E are front and centre. While those with M.E obviously know all about these, it can be difficult to see them constantly in their social media feeds. So, if you are someone with M.E, please be kind to yourself and do what is best for you and your health.

Stay Safe.
